Alabama House District 94 Candidates

Alabama State Legislature District 94 candidate selectionElection day will be upon us tomorrow and this year it is especially important that we choose the right candidates to send to the Alabama Legislature. The media tends to focus on local candidates and the Governors race but miss the point that the laws the Sheriff enforces or the District Attorney prosecutes are first made by the Legislators that we elect to represent us in Montgomery. So it is imperative that we know who we are sending to Montgomery to represent us for the next four years. Below is a quick breakdown of two candidates running for Alabama House District 94, Dale Brown (me) and Joe Faust (the two term incumbent).

1. Political Offices Held

Dale Brown – First time running for public office.
Incumbent Faust – Served as County Commissioner before elected to State Legislature in 2002.

2. Business Experience

Dale Brown – Currently the CEO of WILMAX Clinical Research, Inc., Systems Engineer for AutoZone and General Electric, Director of IT for CIGNA.
Incumbent Faust – Milk delivery man, Insurance Salesman for Woodman of the World.

3. Candidate Age

Dale Brown – 43
Incumbent Faust – 70

4. Military Background

Dale Brown – U.S. Air Force 1988 – 1994. Logged over 2,000 combat flight hours during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Flew in Operation Just Cause to capture Manuel Noriega in Panama. Flew in Operations Restore Hope in Somalia and was decorated for his efforts rescuing American service members and their families after the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines. Flew as part of President George H.W. Bush’s advance team.
Incumbent Faust – Alabama National Guard 1958 – 1966.

5. Stance on Second Amendment

Dale Brown – Fierce advocate for Second Amendment rights as originally intended by the Founding Fathers (no restrictions other than law-abiding).
Incumbent Faust – Supports gun licensing for purchase or ownership of guns. Supports background checks for sale of guns between private citizens at gun shows.

6. Campaign contributions

Dale Brown – Refused to accept contributions from any special interest groups or corporations.
Incumbent Faust – 85% of campaign contributions came from special interest groups or corporations including Big Oil.

7. Taxes

Dale Brown – Supports removal of tax on groceries and prescriptions as a start.
Incumbent Faust – Voted against removal of tax on groceries.

8. Alabama Gambling / Bingo

Dale Brown – Supports right of voters to choose whether to allow gambling or not.
Incumbent Faust – Voted against letting voters choose.

9. Education

Dale Brown – Fierce Opponent of No Child Left Behind. Supports pay raises for teachers and less top heavy bureaucracy at board of education.
Incumbent Faust – Stated he does not support teacher pay raises or the ability of terminating unproductive employees.

10. Crime (including illegal aliens)

Dale Brown – Supports tougher penalties on criminals, including the immediate deportation of illegal aliens from Alabama’s borders.
Incumbent Faust – Voted against stiffer penalties on criminals in 2009.

The choice is simple vote Dale Brown on June 1st and let’s take our government back from the far left wing liberals before they destroy our country.
